About ASPIRE:
Founded in 2008 by Simon Crowhurst, ASPIRE was born from a lifetime dedicated to the world of figure skating, performance, and costume design.
Simon's journey began as a competitive figure skater in the United Kingdom before turning professional at just 17 years old. He joined the world-renowned touring production Holiday on Ice, where he spent ten years performing internationally as both a skater and speciality act. During his career on the ice, Simon developed a deep understanding of what performers need from their costumes—combining beauty, comfort, movement, and durability.
Following his performing career, Simon transitioned into costume design, returning to Holiday on Ice as Head of Wardrobe and after becoming the Costume Production Supervisor and Asst. Costume designer there, he was responsible for the care, maintenance, and management of hundreds of performance costumes while working alongside world-class designers and production teams.
His expertise soon led him to design costumes for major television productions, including Stars Dancing on Ice in the Netherlands, where his creations brought elegance and innovation to the screen. Simon also launched Black Onyx, a premium figure skating training wear collection designed specifically for athletes seeking performance, quality, and contemporary style.
Today, ASPIRE combines decades of professional skating experience with exceptional craftsmanship to create bespoke costumes for figure skaters, dancers, performers, and stage productions. Every design is individually crafted with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring each costume not only reflects the performer's vision but enhances confidence and performance on the ice or stage.
